Export the Existing database

If you already have any hosting server where your website is already hosted or you have a website on your local machine then on both conditions you have to go for PHPMyAdmin and export the complete database as an SQL file.

Take All Existing WP files

To take all files from the web server or from your local machine you have to create a ZIP of all that files or you can use FileZilla to upload.

If you use the ZIP file method to upload, this takes a small amount of time to upload the complete website.

Create a New DB from the Database Wizard

To migrate the WordPress site to a new host manually, we have to create a new database on the hosting panel where we want to transfer the WordPress site.

First, open the cPanel of the hosting server, now follow the below image visual steps,

After clicking on MySQL Database, you can see like below (The screen may vary according to different web servers).

Here you can create a DB by putting the DB name.

Here you set the permission for the above user, and what that user can do on the Database. Simply check on All PRIVILEGES.

To import the old database SQL file to the new DB, open PHPMyAdmin of the new host and click on the import tab and browse the SQL file click GO to upload.

If you have a new domain name or is your domain now on HTTPS then you have to change both the home URL and site URL from the newly uploaded database.

  • Open the database and open wp-options the table.
  • search for both siteurl and home one by one.
  • Replace both values with your new domain name.
